Chat dans l'Égypte antique


Le chat était l'un des nombreux animaux dont les attributs furent vénérés dans l'Égypte antique. Il était notamment associé au symbole de protection. Tout d'abord avatar du dieu Rê en tant que pourfendeur du serpent Apopis, il connaîtra le sommet de son influence en tant qu'incarnation de la déesse Bastet.
